Why is AM talk show so unlistenable? And what’s with the pathetic sponsors?

August 31st, 2011

Have you ever tried to listen to the popular AM talk show hosts? It almost seems there is more commercial than program. But what really sucks is that the same old commercials play over and over-so many times they give you a headache after just one night of listening.
If that is not bad enough, look at the kinds of products sold. I swear half of what they advertise is financial products for people who can’t manage a budget. What the heck kind of people must listen to those programs on a regular basis then? The smartest people-as they say??? Then the sex aids, adrenaline pills, stuff for aching bodies etc. They do have a few normal vendors but most are really pathetic products. The kind of stuff you go to Wallgreens at midnight wearing a trench coat and ski beenie cap to buy.

How on earth does anyone sit and listen day after day? I tried but turning my radio off and on for the commercials is demanding and distracting-there are so many of them.
Figures I’d get at least one mindless insult. If you write something, make it intelligent and have a point. Oh I am a gold bug myself. I do like to keep some physical assets but the gold salespeople are trying to push the physical stuff way too much. ETF’s make lots more sense as do foreign and domestic gold stocks. Too much overhead with physical gold and too difficult to leverage and short. Risk of theft, delivery fees, premiums added to bullion price, etc. They push physical gold over alternatives but give no good reasons why-just fear mongerings.

have you forgot their main advertisement?

what toys or games from today do you think will be worth a lot, 20-25 yrs from now?

August 28th, 2011

Growing up in the 1980s, toys and games kicked ass and kids back then couldnt wait to tear open the packaging to play with them. Today, many toys and games from the 1980s are worth a lot of money, and they are worth a helluva lot if they are UNopened in their original prestine packaging complete with factory seal. I was a sonofabitch, and opened just about every Transformer, G.I. Joe, M.A.S.K. or other figure I got my hands on. I also never realized that those quirky metal lunchboxes with TV icons imprinted on them like Dukes of Hazzard and Knight Rider from the 80s would be worth a lot as well. So, today, I do my best in trying to guesstimate what items of today will be worth lots in about 25 yrs from now. A few years ago I started buying the Transformers Alternators/Binaltech line…and ive seen the prices of them increase online a bit in the past few years. About 10 yrs ago I bought some KISS action figures from the MacFarlane toyline, but their value hasnt increased much. I have a few video games that are worth a lot, namely a PSone game called Intelligent Qube. (going for about $50, last time I checked). My girlfriend has some Ty Beenie baby bears that are known as the Princess Diana bear. If she has the correct model, its worth over $230k. I also have the Gremlins storybook/record set that was sold at Hardee’s fast food restaurants (circa 1984). One thing I wish I owned was the Star Wars collector glass tumbler set that was sold at Burger King, I do however own some of the Muppets glass tumblerware that was sold at McDonalds around that same time period.

The toys I am saving are the Barbie Anniversary dolls and the ones who represent various country’s.

I threw a bunch of different music artists out there (yes, I know there are more and yes, I am a fan myself of more that are not listed here but if I kept going, I’d never get this out!) so pick your top five and share it with everyone!

What is all the hype with Vinyl art toys?

August 2nd, 2011

I don’t get it. $100 for a little vinyl toy? It’s not even a toy..toys are fun it’s a dust collector. Even Disney is in on it now. Can someone please explain? Is it like beenie babies?

They’re $10, not $100.

They’re little ugly vinyl dolls that are part of a series, each series has a different theme… worst part is, when you buy them, it’s blind… you have no idea what you might get in a box other than it’s from that series. But you can trade them in at the counter with a few others they have on display, or I guess trade with other collectores.

But I know… I don’t care for them much.

My son loves them though and always spends his Disney allowance on them now.

I figure, though, since they are new, some of the ones coming out these first few years are probably going to be worth a lot of money some day… like some of the original Disney pins… so I told him if that’s what he wants to spend his money on, fine, but he has to take good care of them.

Are there any beanie babies that are worth a lot of money?

July 29th, 2011

So I have this huge collection of beenie babies and I was just curious, since they are so old, are there any that are worth anything?

Certainly get the Buyer’s Guide, as it will tell you which are worth more than others. Trap the Mouse is the most expensive, as it was initially passed over during its release. And, as always, older is better and condition is king.

how much do beenie babies sell for?

July 25th, 2011

We have quite a large vaiety of beenie babies, dogs cats bears.

It depends which ones are rare and what not. Try eBay. http://www.ebay.com

Does god still have her collection of Beenie Babies?

July 21st, 2011

Beenie weenies, ever had any? i tried making some one time and i put Campbell?

April 26th, 2011

pork and beans and cut up a hot dog and cooked it and it didn’t taste the same. Ended up putting the Le Sueur peas in it . I put them in soap, chilli, just about anything. might want to try it. Anybody know how to make home beenie weenies that are good?
I meant soup, funny how a letter changes things.

Use the same brand of pork and beans, but cook your hot dogs first. They are not going to taste exactly the same though. Wow I haven’t had any since I was a kid, think I’ll make some ……
